I donno, just a quick edit on the face.  Pulled the eyes down...kind of pulled out the chin...maybe too far.  The cheek bones still bother me.
I like how you got the texture of the wing. But it is kind of concerning how many colors you used--you could probably take out quite a few with out losing quality.
Also, you might want to look at the muscles and lighting :S

But it's cool.  Very trying of you.  :y:

Ill try and move the chin to a better position, thanks for pointing that out
i dont really like the eyes that far down, but ill see what i can do to make it look better placed
and as for the colors, i had it at 8 originally, but i like it alot more now because its smoother...thats just a preference fo mine, ive never liked jaggy/sharpness in pixels....but....ill compare them side by side to see how it looks...
oh yes, and ill try to see what i can do with the cheekbones

EDIT:
okay, messed with his chin, his cheek, his eyes, tweaked the nose a bunch, and lowered the head so the eyes looked a bit better...

i didnt really like it with the colors reduced, so ill just keep it as is for now.

Sorry for the double post ^^;;; even though since i have an update its ok...

i reduced the colors, changed them around, messed with the face, extended the torso so his head isnt so big in comparrison, messed with the arms lighting, messed with the eyes, and made small adjustments in some other places.

I personally liked the other colors better because they gave him more of a stony (and therefore gargoyley) feel.  With the reddish skin he looks more like a demon or devil.

Nice work on the veiny textures on the wing.  Though you might want to keep an eye on the lightsource and how it would affect a flat surface such as the wing.  It seems to me like the shading should be more flat and with less contrast, unlike the very wide-ranged light-to-dark shading that you have now.  Just a consideration.

well, i brought back the old colors;

original                                         last post version                             newest
i messed with the wing to try and get it to look more..wing-ish, like faktablad was saying...but i dunno if i quite understood...
tweaked alot of random things, as usual...and
adam, I think it would look really good with a second lightsource...however....Ive never dabbled into secondary lightsources, to tell the truth, so until I add one onto this i think i want to experiment on some things itd be easier to apply a second lightsource to.
thanks for all your comments :D

I would suggest moving away from a single ramped monochromatic color scheme. If you look at real stone statuary, especially of the classical European type, you'll see a lot of variety in the hues.

Looking at a reference like this, I can see greens, yellows, and maybe some subtle lavender undertones.

I think it's a good start, but there's still a few things that look off.

His head is too short. He needs a bit more of a forehead. The head is also too big for his body.

His shoulder looks a bit odd, so I tried to change it a bit.

When you smile, your upper lip doesn't bend like that, but is more straight.

The nose shouldn't cast that much shadow on the face.

I also made the wing behind him seem like it's a bit more curved, and brightened the one in front.

Nice and challenging piece.

I couldn't help feeling that the eyes are a bit too close to each other and that the curve of the mouth is slightly awkward.. so here's how I figured they should go:

I also added a deeper shadow under his brow.

EDIT: Oh damn, Arachne beat me to it.
