Sorry I posted this in the art board, although i think it belongs here...

Here's one that has sort of snuck up on the American public: RealID.

Sorry for the funny political subject matter, it's just that in our modern technological age, it is important to keep an eye on mantaining important freedoms, lest we lose those freedoms, and bring about the rise of some despotic regime(ruled by androids) D: ??? And for anyone who is too young, or didn't like history class, I'd like to point out that the Nazis(those bad guys who started WW2) made use of special identification markers to help facilitate the atrocities they committed.

I guess the difference is back then the star was a death sentence, where as now it is a "must have". Still, the new system will create a division between those who are privileged, and those who are not; and all at the cost of privacy, which is a constitutional right last time I checked.

here are some links to the holocaust(for a reminder):

https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/jewish-badge-during-the-nazi-era

I would like to point out that there are a number of critics out there who appose this new system of national identification.
Here are a few more links:
Burlington Free Press - DMV embraces Real ID, critics cite privacy concerns(2013)
ACLU: Real ID - turning driver’s licenses into national ID ...tracking, data
Constitutional Alliance - Real ID Exposed: It Is Worse than You Think
...this last one is a pretty extensive rebuttal to the new system, and points out many concerning things like expanded facial recognition, unprecedented & unconstitutional level of DHS authority, new Federally interlinked DMV databases, new identity theft risks, non encrypted machine readable metadata, international sharing of biometrics, FBI's new world’s largest biometric database...
...you should be very concerned!

So that brings me to my mockup:
RGB:           ...and 16 Color:
also, heres a link to the imgur page: https://imgur.com/a/C85CY0W

...and sorry, it's not really pixel art yet; and this isn't really even the right format yet; I was thinking of making something more similar to what the actual ID card will look like. ...And I'm not yet sure about canvas size, although it's my opinion that, when done properly, pixel art looks good at both small and large scales, and so I think, in the end, size should probably be limited by readability of the smallest font.

Anyway, I just wanted to start this thread, rather than taking a deep dive all on my own, and having it flop. Feel free to post if this sort of thing sounds interesting to you. Important note: the mockup i made is square where as a Real ID card is rectangular. Also, my mockup is just a quick RGB collage, although i think with the right palette, it could really catch on the eye(as well as be easily reproducible).

So anyway, here is my challenge to anyone who will take it:
Create an ID card for one of the 50 states, including on it one of the new emblems signifying Real ID compliance, and put a picture of a cow on the card in place of the portrait.

IMPORTANT: Don't use any real info inside your finished work!

Also, for extra points you may try to incorporate the one of the grades of beef into your design:
Prime, Choice, Select, Standard, Commercial, Utility, Cutter, Canner

...thats it!  ...and have fun painting cows!

And don't let me forget, here are the official emblems:

and here are some official sample IDs(from the DHSgov website):
