nectarine juice, or a CGA demoscene logo

on: September 26, 2007, 05:51:22 pm
Hi there, folks! Here you have my lastest finished project (started in March or April and put off until now), a small one this time. CGA again (doh!) -- 3 (sic!) out of 4 colours used. This is, in fact, the second CGA variant with a small colour hack -- as far as it goes, you can't have the black plus the yellow next to each other. Read the IBM PC/compatible systems >> CGA section at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_palettes if you're interested in further explanation.

. . . alternatively:

Nectarine is an Internet radio station broadcasting oldschool demoscene tunes.

C&C welcome! Thank you! BZZzt. . .

The a really doesn't appeal as an a to me. I had to look quite a time to finally see an a instead of an o.
I'd suggest using an "a" with a bow, such as in the font of this forum.
Except for that it's completely awesome and all that.

The style is lovely. But it is a bit difficult to read it (not that a big fan of the font in other words). One problem is the T; it just looks like a gap in the text, then the I; same problem. Another is the A; it looks too similar to the C ...I actually thought both were O's at first. I would suggest making it look more like a capital A. I really like the texture on it all though, and the nectarine looks great. Also, both palettes are delicious!

EDIT: Damn, ya beat me Opacus!

There's also some more confusion to the IN part... it sort of looks as if the N is missing a leg... making it all look like NEOORVE.

NECTORINE

There is the problem with the a looking like an o, and also the R having one kind of thin leg, and additionally, the I and N in nectarINe flowing together.

.. The t also needs some more light I think, And the C needs a bit of distinction, it flows together and creates and 'o' for me.

NEOORINE

@ A@

aside from being a bit hard to read, though, it's looking great. Overall presentation = Definately approved (as in I love it)

(Whoops, mirre already said it. Oh well, two people makes an opinion strongerorsomething.)

I'd say just add some black between the lower part of the A and R. Looks lovely.

Whoah, thanks a lot! That's what I would call a really quick reply! I'll see what I can do with it, but---I tell you frankly---I wanted it a little hard to read ;). It will be used randomly as one of many site banners and, y'know, everyone will know what it reads.

Please don't stop C&Cing! :D

I feel that someone at least should add in: I don't think it's hard to read at all and I actually like it this way.

It's a very nice piece, I think you're better off with such an a though.
