Goddamn it man, don't say that! I want to take it down now.
It's actually quite a simple/cheap way of pixelling, first i filled in the white with a midtone, and the black with a shadowtone, then just found 'shards' or 'ridges' in the lines, and went from light to dark on them. Lots of referencing with crystals. And i gave it a sliver of 'secondary lighting' which was really just to make it look seethrough. Adding random bright pixels makes it look glittery (or wet, like on the tongue).
Anyway, your lines are brilliant, but just practice more with colouring and you'll be fine.
