I'm not sure you're getting the idea of shiny or hue shifting/saturation for that matter. The whole piece just needs more contrast, there's a useless gray at the bottom on the border too, for some reason. The greens just aren't bright enough and they're just way too much of a shifted hue, try to make them a little more blue and alot brighter, one thing you also need is selout(Selective Outlining: http://derekyu.com/extras/pixel09.html). I find no reason to do another edit, so I'd suggest just looking at my last two.
