I decided to give spriting a try...tell me what you think. C&C is welcome

EDIT: by the way, he is supposed to be a wizard/sorcerer-type guy.

The legs are kinda wierd. It looks like it's stomping on the ground or something. Try making the left leg darker so it appears pushed back.

Here is my problem with this. You've used Darien's sprite as a base and edited it from there.
http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=430.0
I have a problem with this because I don't see any credit to Darien anywhere and I don't see hiim posting to clear this issue up. I know this is his base because of a series of coincidences that make this conclusion inexcapable.

When overlayed on top of eachother, the eyes, mouth, chin, arms, nose and feet match up perfectly. The feet are precisely identical in position and overall look. the arms are in the exactly same position, the only difference being you have altered the outline in a couple coordinates. You have altered the structure of the face to little good effect, but the perimeter and placement of details in the head of Darien's sprite remain unchanged here.

Credit is of absolute importance when posting here, however, even if credit had been given, sprite edits are not the kind of pixels that Pixelopolis is designed for. There are other communities that specialise in this branch of pixeling. This is where this piece would belong, except that it would not be advisable to use Darien's sprite without first assuring his absolute permission.

If Darien did give you permission to use it, then make it crystal clear next time, do not leave it for the critiquer to find as this leaves us in a position to assume that there was no permission. However, next time do not post an edit as original pieces are far more preferable.

I see what you mean crabs, i tried overlapping them as well and they are perfect as you said. The eyebrows look a little different though, but that might just be me. The feet are the same as well. Stupid person trying to pass someone elses work as their own...
hmm...i just checked it again and failed to notice how the arms are the same as Dariens? Would you mind telling me/showing me which one they resemble?

On closer look the arms are more changed than I had let on. If you look at the body and legs you can see they are nearly exactly the same with only two pixels taken from the legs. You can also see when comparing pixels on the head that much of the black outlines at the top of the head on Darien's version is preserved.

Some things like the arms are pretty changed from the original, but when you look at the pose, the feet, and see all the details that remained in their exact same place like the nose, eyes, mouth, chin, plus plenty of shading details that never changed pixels then it's pretty obvious that this was made from Darien's sprite.

Thank you, crab.  I didn't give permission for this.  Heh, of the three he could have stolen, he picked the worst.

Anyway, since I thought guests couldn't post here, and it says he posted as a guest, does that mean he's been banned?

In any case, let's just let this thread die.
