There are some minor things which are not in the manual, but nothing you would need at this point. Just read the whole manual and try stuff out and you should be set.

  But are there Plugins or Filters like in Photoshop which i can use for filling purposes etc... !!!!! 
 When i started learnin'  Phs, the filters were very important in the Tutorials !

stop banging on about filters and shit.  original C64 artists didnt have filters, i dont see how they would help you anyway.  Stop looking for quick ways to make pixel-art just do it and practice.  the software is minimal factor in the quality of the piece.
