on: July 02, 2007, 01:24:44 pm
This is my template for the isometric shooter i plan to make....well i dont know if it's going to be isometric, but i am going to make it anyway....
i think it has no errors, but please, cc any suggestion....
i am going to texture it right now (it's an ammo box)

also, feel free to use it as a template, but i don't think it will help anyway...

I'm not sure if that's the full animation or only half of it that you're looping, but the edges are not getting lit properly, or rather, the transitions are wrong. The lower vertical edge, for example, goes from dark red (when it's at the right edge) to highlight with no transition; a similar thing happens to the top right diagonal edge, where it goes from light pink to dark red.

on the right side you have one outline which does neither work as a outline nor as anti aliasing. in fact it looks more like bad anti aliasing. I would say, either turn it into proper anti aliasing, or make it brighter/darker than both sides which touch the line.

Excuse me, but why would you want to use rotating boxes for every powerup or ammo that you can pick up? o.o

Yea, it'll be hard for players to memorize what each one is, you're better off making things that actually somewhat resemble what they are.

hehehe i said, i am going to stamp them after i get a decent beta. i don't mind what a player might think looking at those boxes, because they aren't done....

Maybe it would work well if the user interface items were the same color as the box you're picking up, such as the armor image being yellow, the rockets red, health bar white or pink or both, etc.

I'd remove the individual box faces' outlines, i don't particulary like them.

I was thinking on it when i resolved to leave them in single colors for now.
also, what lines do you would erase? interior ones?
