It's me again... I forgot Slamtilt, a perfect pinball game which sports great flashy graphics and tons of wonderful dot-matrix animations. The game kind, besides not being very common, has some peculiar requirements, so maybe it could be interesting...

edit: go here to see it in action - I just hope the guy managed to show all the (sub-)missions ;)

I suggest The Misadventures of Flink (amiga, genesis)
Panda, I hope you don't mind if I provide a link to more screenshots (a hundred!) from Flink: (F)link.

edit: removed some stuff as Gil's comment below made me suspect I was breaking the guidelines as regards commenting the games. I hope the link above can remain. Apologies - I only meant to provide people with more information for chosing.

Tales of Phantasia?

hmm, I prefer snes graphics, ToP of gba has chibi sprites.
here is the snes one:

well, here are the three different graphic version, the top row is psx according to a forum, the middle one is snes, and the one bottom one is gba :P:

Dragon Quest III for GameBoy Color
DQ3 @ MobyGames
DQ3 @ IGN

This game barely looks like a GBC game, it really pushed the limits. The enemies are well animated too.

Manic Miner for GameBoy Advance
MobyGames
I don't know what to say.

The only thing to discuss with that game is not so much the pixelation in it but rather the lack of it. Eugh. And pillow-shading, yay!

Regarding Tales of Phantasia, I'd say that the SNES graphics are the most consistent and work the most well. Personal opinion, of course, but I thought I'd voice it here.

The woods and many of the other scenes are VERY beautifully rendered. If this game gets chosen, I could crank up an emulator and get some quality screens to dissect. The SNES version has pixel-art that really is worth checking out and learning from. And moreso, art direction and consciousness about color-choices, something that the remakes lack, at points. After all, the pixel-forest in ToP is what inspired my PRPG piece. Not that it says much.

Anyhow, though that would be at least a bit relevant.

Hello, I'm new here!

My suggestion is Super Contra (Konami, arcade, 1988).

Lots of screens, I'll take some out if this is flooding anybody's screen. I hope everybody's running 1600x1200!

Most of them seem to be the same but i'd think they'd come in use  :)
