The next commercial critique is currently planned for June.

If there are various things scheduled, it might be good to make such scheduling public in one place as a way to build anticipation for them. If members can look at what is scheduled, it might be good for the community since everyone probably doesn't keep up to date with discussions in every thread, etc.

as soon as the commercial critique schedule is refined, we'll publish it.  For other activities, we do have a schedule, but due to the high possibility of us needing to shift things around, we'll just announce those as they happen.

I'd like to suggest the Golden Sun series for the next commercial critique thread, there's a ton of great tilesets in that game that merit looking into.
I know there were proper spriterips floating about somewhere but all I've been able to find are bits and pieces like below:

PSA: use imgur
http://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=19838.0 also go suggest on my quest, cmon

Seconding Golden Sun. I've never liked the art that series, so it would be interesting to read better-informed people's opinions on it.

How about critiquing The Immortal? It's a very challenging but really good looking game with great animations (although that combat screen could have been a little more "animated"...).
I see it was suggested here over 10 years (!) ago, so maybe it's time? xD

Maybe Streets of Rage 3? It's got some really good character sprite work.

Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 3)

The game was published by SquareSoft (now SquareEnix) in the mid 90's exclusively in Japan at the tail end of the SNES' life-cycle. For those that are aware of the title, it is renowned for its vibrant palette and intricate pixel work.

It was even featured in Tsugumo's De-Mystifying "The Greats" series.

High time this game got the Commercial Critique treatment.

EDIT: Fixed the link to Tsugumo's article

How about Zelda II: The Adventure of Link? That game would benefit a lot from some serious tile doctoring.

OG Metroid, on the NES?
Artist Omegachaino has demonstrated over on DA how Samus could look if they'd made her run animation with 12 frames, but that's both overkill and wouldn't fit on an NES cart (right? i guess it wouldn't...)

Maybe this community could come up with a better 4-frame animation?
