The trunk is too big, you can't make out the leaves or that it's on a cliff. Work on those and you'll have a good piece.

Right now you can barely tell what is what.
I'm guessing the dark part is the foliage, but if didn't mention it was a tree on a cliff I would be clueless to be honest.
If you don't know how a tree on a cliff is supposed to look like, either pixel something else or look for references that could help you.
Here you go, some pictures I googled:

http://www.themystic.org/images2/cliff-tree.jpg

I think the first step you should take right now is studying how things look like and translating that into the canvas. Make things recognizable.
Good luck with further updates etc.

(bad edit, but I didn't have too much time.)
1. reduced coulour count (11->6)
2. redid the background (it was pretty hard to tell it's a sun)
3. added a bit of texture and AA
4. changed palette so it's a bit more intresting

Nice. But try making it with more of an isometric view point. In other words, have the camera facing the tree further away, and make it so you can see part of the cliff face.

don't make it bigger, we can do that with clicking and you're hardly cramped for pixels.  i would concentrate rather on what the actual forms are, you've got a lot of strange gentle "shapes" that show little and appeal less.  those photos are a good place to start looking.
A mistake is a mistake.
The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

i didnt mean the picture enlarging it i meant making the view of the tree and cliff wider so you can see more :lol: but i dont know what you mean by gentle shapes ???
