Hi : ) im not new here.. but i didnt know that pixelation was regenerated. Hm i dont know how much i have missed... i stoped pixeling when it was closed and i dont remember when it was really... quite a long time ago i think, and after a while i gave up my hope that it would come back.. anyway..
this is my first pixelart in ages..so be gentle.   :)

He's a fun character, love the pose.  The first thing that I noticed was the selout, it's way too obvious.  It looks like you might have done most of it backwards.  I'm not a practiced on selout, but I think the darkest part should be on the inside, not the outside.  The lack of shading on the pants (leggings?) stands out, but I think you're okay without it on the boots.

Welcome back to the forums!

No, in selout the darkest shade is on the outside.
Rather than type out half a page of text, I'll just link you to this site:

Take a look at how he handles outlines.

This is pretty cool coffee,

The only real problem with your execution of selout here is that it is the same throughout.
The main difference between this sprite, and kenneth's is the fact that you use black as the darkest selout shade along the entire piece. The problem with doing this is that it ignores whatever light source you've established, and serves to make your piece look like a cardboard cut-out. The main thing you can do here is change the selout shades, and make them progressively lighter or darker, dependant on the light source. I might do a demonstrative edit later, but I hope you can understand this in the mean time.

thank you, for your advice gliding : D

i made a new one ^^ got a sick idea that i wanted too see what is underneath that coat.

got in some problems with his feet and his right hand.
and it looked a little strange when i shaded the leggings (tight dress?) so i made the white spots lighter and darker instead, what do you think?
