First attempt at a sprite...

on: April 14, 2007, 07:49:49 pm
Ok...so, err, well. This is pretty much my first attempt at a sprite. I want to create a small jump'n'run game, so I started to do the sprites for the main character and noticed...that I'm just bad when it comes to sprites. Its just like a sketch right now, and right now I only want to know what you would change/add, I'm really lost I guess.

I assume that the game is a platformer? If that's the case, then I would make him stand sidewards instead of letting him just turn his head.
This can be done by placing his (for us) left arm to the right and his other arm to the left(behind his body)
You can also place his (for us) left leg to the right a bit and his other leg to the left so it comes behind the left leg. But I think you should try and color it first so you can add shadows to make more depth.
good luck :y:
