[WIP] zergling pixelation

on: September 20, 2019, 10:23:30 am
hey there.

So Im working on a small zergling piece. Im relatively new to pixel art, so I dont master all the specific just yet. Therefore even though it is a WIP, i would appreciate any tips you guys might have :)

Other then that, I hope you enjoy this piece.

Finally, I`ll just drop a little background about myself, initially, I studied a bit of traditional art as I was interested in concept art for video games. But my ultimate goal would be to create my own video games (Im a computer engineer), that led me to pixel art. So now before going into the meat of the work for my first game, I want to spend a bit of time to brush up my art skills with pixel art. I want to get as good as I possibly can, so be harsh with the feedback if any :-0

Okidokey, hope to post much more ! see you round !

Ok here's the latest development.

Not quiet as good as I hoped for, but I cant pinpoint what's wrong.

I want to make it pop a bit more, make it more readable. I tried adding an outline but it make it looks so fat.

Any suggestion ?

Hello again!

So I checked out a book that someone suggested me to look at for color, and restarted the sprite from scratched, thinking about color from the get go.

Heres the result, with and without secondary light source. What do you guys think ?
