[Feedback][WIP] Character Run Animation

on: September 16, 2019, 05:28:47 pm
Here's a run animation I've been working on for a top-down Zelda type character:

Please give me any feedback you have! I'm very new to animation and pixel art as a whole so everything helps.

I simplified it to 4 frames for the sake of simplicity.

If you get rid of your "tween" frames then step through the motion and observe one leg at a time then the other, you'll notice both leg motions are essentially backwards. I swapped frames 2 and 4, now they are stepping in a forward motion. I also made his arms swing back and forth in a pendulum motion rather than a circular motion to mimic how I would run in real life.

Wow that's great! Thank you very much! I didn't notice that the leg motions were backwards until you said it but you are right. That helped a lot.
