Batfird the bird

Allrighty, i kinda hit the wall with this one and have some trouble finishing it. Can't fit the wings and feet there properly 
Open to all kinds of suggestions, even if it means going back to the starting line.

hah, i love this, although it is like, a little pig to me instead of a bird.  the hands and feet look fine to me, but i don't see any wings, perhaps you could give a sketch fo the character so that we could see what you were trying to achieve?

I'm with Adarias though, it looks more like a sugar glider or something than a bird to me. Are the arms essential? Perhaps you could have those be wings or have the wings appear when he raises his little arms much like a sugar glider. I would love to see some character art if you have any ^^

Well, he doesn't necessarily need to be bird. Here's a sketch... I'll post his pals in the OT creativity thread.
You gave me some nice ideas, i'ma make even more friends for him.

Use 2 sets of color, yellow and this purple... then it will be nice =D

I once had a hamster that looked kind of like this guy, at least when his hair started to grow back in...

With the character sketch I can see what you mean about the wings now--at first I thought they were fists and you wanted to add a pair of wings to his back. I made a tiny edit to make them look more wingy; all I did was lighten the darkest shade and adjust highlights to fit:


If pokemon looked as good as this guy, I'd almost feel bad for beating up on them. I'm looking forward to seeing more critters like this from you, huZba!

Ohh I see how you were trying to do the wings now. I guess it threw me off of it being a bird because his beak isn't a different color. I really  can't get over how cute he is. <3 Can't wait to see what you decide to do with him!
I looked at your other post too... and I want to see Hammard

Thanks everyone. Added one color like fools edit suggested, making it a nice full 8 colors including transparency.
Tried keeping the lightsource and the big feathers and made clearer differences between materials.

Real nice Fool, your edit was very educational and i tried studying what you did....btw, it might be pixels playing with my head, but i swear your edit looked different yesterday.

I'm working on this during breaks at work so it's a bit slow, but i'll start doing hammard as well.
