direct linking from deviantart is not a good practice. Upload the image to either photobucket.com, tinypic.com, or, if you must, imageshack. Also, it would be nice to post a static image of the final product so it is easier to critique without having to wait for the entire animation every 2 seconds.

I'd say the lineart looks like it has loads of potential, and if you fancy yourself experienced in the art of rendering, it will have a nice turnout. Can't wait to see more.

Your lineart is great! Indeed, you pushed it beyond by also defining shadows and details... at first I was wondering whether it was a bit of wasted work, given that it's going to be "replaced" by shades, but then I realized it could turn out to be a precious guide for shading.
If you manage to keep the quality also in the rest of the process, your piece will definitely rock!

Keep up the good work!

Just a smallie, you need to bring the darkest shade of the beard down to even darker, it looks like a huge fluff of cotton as it is. Look at the roughly colored version, the beard is much more readable there. O: Check it.

What is a point of heavy duty dithering on that? I think it's not really helping to create a volume, rather work as sandstone texture.
