A monster

on: March 08, 2007, 04:36:31 am

First off, I don't know what kinda monster it is... I guess it's like some kind of boar?  I wanted to work with a limit of 4 colors, but I ended up adding a highlight color in the end.  I'm pretty proud of it, but I'm looking for critiques! :)

Version 2:

Edit:  Thanks for your compliments and critiques! I updated as per suggestions here (and deviantart) and changed it a bit to give it more depth and make it's stance look a little more solid.  I think I need to stop working on it for now (I have a baaad habit or overworking things... >_-) but keep the critiques coming! Thanks :)

Looks like a sabre tooth tiger/ boar mix.  Reminds me of Buloght's work.  Good job.

It's a sabertooth haina lol. I like the colors, and the paws look a little big to me.

Boabortoohyena.
I really like the face and back and tail but the legs look a bit screwy. Mayhap some references would help? On the face, the outlines are making it a bit crowded. Is that a goatee?

I actually preferred the original to Terley's edit. The colors were much more interesting, what with the purple and yellow tints. Terely's makes everything look a bit less interesting. The only thing I agree with is that the hair should look more hairy.
The legs still look wierd. I was going to do an edit but I didn't want to "redo" your pixels. If you want I could find a reference and point out what I think looks odd.

well I guess his wishes should be respected?

that being said I think the original is better as well, I don't think the blue in the piece works with it in your edit either. I do like the detail added though.
