Trying to further my knowledge of hue shifting and such

on: February 01, 2007, 03:17:29 am

Mainly just looking at the characters. You might recognize these two from the game Cave Story, otherwise known as Dokutsu Monogatari.

Anyway. I'm looking for pointers on this. I know how to hue shift, I just want to learn how to do it better.

Great effort, this is how I'd change your palette.

The characters firstly need a bit more contrast in the colours, the lightest is now white..

With the hue shifts its probably best to be a bit more obviously with such small characters, exagerate the shifts, but still use your instict, alter the contrast, saturation of your colours.. no one picks a perfect palette, it's just trying to get the most out of the colours after all.
I've not got anything interesting to type here..
