Gravedigger.

on: January 24, 2007, 05:20:13 pm

Still just a sketch at the moment.

I'm aware that the skulls seem to fade on the right side, I'll try and fix that in the next update.
As well as the skull he's holding is much too big.  :P

I'm trying to work on my background skills.
So I'm trying to make a decent looking surrounding, if anyone has any ideas please tell me. :B

I`m a big fan of your line work. Can I ask how you go about drawing them. Is it all mouse work?

Jason.

i would guess a tablet. all of the good artists use one....

i guess im not a good artist lol

@souly-nice job, cant wait to see this one. and may i suggest using more than one color scheme? i know all of your pieces that are like that look good, but i think this one could be nice with some grays and reds and browns....just a suggestion. ;D

His left arm is too long - especially if it's supposed to be cut off at the wrist. The right hand doesn't seem like it has the right grip on that skull. Right now he's just palming it.

Yeah I just use a plain microsoft laser mouse.
When I start drawing I don't really plan on drawing what I come up with.
All I do is make a simple shape, usually a head first.
And then I just continue to sketch from there based on what I see.

I'll probably go with a good skull red/purple as well as a good pale yellow for the skulls.

Hmm I'll take that into account while I do my next update on the lines.

Edit:: Update!

There ya go, added more skulls tried to fix the hand issue as well as the skull's size.
I don't know if I fixed the skull though.

It's looking ace so far.  I think a hanging jaw bone from the "palmed" skull would be fitting.

There's only really one thing that grinds my gears, and it's weird lines in the groin area.

Good luck with this... and please tell me those stray pixels by the head are going to be flies.

I added a jaw for ya. :D

Hmm, I'll see if I make it worse or better.

I dunno what they were there for, just left 'em. :P

Hm. I think that the head (of the guy, not the skull) looks a little odd, I believe it is turned a bit too much. Apart from that, it looks brilliant, although a little too small to see any details ;).

Yeah it was going to be for the competition.
But I realized they're probably looking for a 100x100 monster not just a monster with a bunch of scenery.

Lucky there..

Hmm.. a pile of skulls.. sounds right up my street. Super idea, so far, looks great. The clouds of smoke and moon-thingy look in good positions.
