Wolf Idle and Run Cycle - Critiques Welcome!

on: January 20, 2019, 07:52:53 am
Hello!

Just a wolf idle and walk cycle I made for a game I'm working on with a friend. Would love an opinion!

The wolf's back leg feels detached in both animations because of the shadow (or is it patterning?) at the top of the thigh. I think it would look better to have that bit be light.

In the idle animation, the tail being raised so high without any other movement feels a bit unnatural, that's something you might see in a show-dog, but generally not a wolf, I think. I think having the tail wag, or having it in a lower position would look more wolf-ey.

Thanks for the feedback!

So basically remove the darker colours on the back thigh so it'll look more seamless and less detached, and give the tail some animation or sway (or don't have it stand up like a pupper). Makes sense!
