Cool! Reminds me of the STF Doom faces.

I like this. The folds and hills in the face, especially in the cheeks and forehead, are amazing--like cream.
I kinda dislike the hair at the moment;  I fiddled here and there on it, and I couldn't seem to corner the issue...it's probably nothing.
On the cheeks, well sorta below them, by the mouth, he's got stripes I'd definitely look into.
Also, the outline along the chin and to the ears doesn't really fit the rest of the piece.

And besides some minor missed spots on AA (the hair to the background notably), this is a great piece.  Good job, and keep pixelling!

I think the last one was better.
The 2nd one you posted is darker mayb to dark and you gave him more facail structure.
I think to much since his eye's dont really show uhhh aliveness.

I like the new one a lot more. The contrast adds more depth, and in the old one the sides of his mouth look stretched because of the light extending down to his jaw. I also like that you opened the eyes a little more.

I think the ears could be lighter though.

I too like the new one better, but I feel you lost something of the flabbiness of the cheeks during the update. The expression also changed, from a bored bemusement to an apparent lack of any emotion (mostly due to eye shape and mouth shape). Everything else is lookin' good on the new version, especially the lower part of the face, and the forehead, and the colors. It's so pretty I don't even care that it's mirrored, which is a big thing for me
