This is my first post after lurking for a while



This a Seraph,(slightly stylized) the highest ranking angel, Im happy with the wings and head, but the robe is bugging me

any suggestions/edits would be helpful.

I love it, but something about the robe doesn't look right. It might be the shading. The Seraphim are my favorite angels.

The robe is pillow shaded.
The wings are a bit overdetailed and undercontrasted for their size.
Waist seems a bit thin.
Wings are misshapen.
The head looks good.
This is nice, but it just needs a bit of fixin' uppin'. Keep going.

i redid the robe shading, i think its getting better.

next thing im gonna do is make the wings nice and massive and awe inspiring(hopefully )

Technically, no, but then, with programs like photoshop, painter, etc., you could say there isn't really any need for pixel art at all...

I think a better way to phrase it would be 'try to make better use of your colours'. At the moment you're stuffing a hell of a load of colours into such a small space, you'll find that if you broaden the areas that each colour uses you'll have less need for so many, and overall it'll look better. Because of this the cloak looks uber flat, and rather than just draping fabric, it looks like zig zagged metal.

I dunno if that actually made any sense.

that makes sense, i will try to cut down colours but Im just starting so it will take a bit of time for me to judge stuff like that.
