Pixel Art Critique

on: November 02, 2018, 01:37:54 pm
Hi, I'm new here on the site and was wondering if my pixel art is any good :) I try to always follow the limitations of a specific game system/computer, in this case it's the MSX1 computer, but it could also be displayed on a Colecovision/SG-1000 game system. I'd like to know if the poses for the characters is dynamic enough, and if the characters seem like they would work for a video game or not, or just general thoughts. Thanks!

Frankly it kicks ass, maybe this is why you're not getting replies  And working to old specs is my game. Think it was the forte of many others here too, at least way back.

But it's also hard to understand without context, like the water nymph lady being completely separate from the rest of the composition. In one context this breaks the comp, but in another it works.

Little kid looks way like Alex Kidd BTW, think you were inspired by the early 80s manga style? Almost spot on.
