Qaz The Crazy

on: December 26, 2006, 04:56:57 am
My friend's alter-ego.
He's one crazy son of a bitch.  ;D

-> -> ->
Wanted to go with a kind of psychedelic shading on the straight jacket.
It's still every much WIP.
Just wanna see if I should change anything before I go on any further with this.

Edit- ALright, added a possible background to make things intresting.
Not sure about colors and a few other things with it.
Probably fix up the background with more detail in the future.

The original lines were much bigger. ^.^;

Keep it goin', it looks good to me! :)

(for some reason, the colors look too bright to me. Maybe they're overly saturated, maybe it's because all the hues are some form of purple, maybe it's because I love pastel colors too much, or maybe it's 'cuz it's a wip  :lol: but I thought I'd mention it).

I <3 teh scarf.

Alright began to work on the mask.
Quite unsure about the whole square thing I did.
Was really an experiment more then anything.

Edit: Alright, screwed around with this some more.

Sorry for the double post guys, but I've got a pretty big update here.  :y:

Many shading errors were fixed.
I think I put a lot more detail into the straight jacket.  :D

Maybe move the horizon and factory down. I don't know, seems like the cape is somehow hung on the chimney.
Modern artists are told that they must create something totally original-or risk being called "derivative".They've been indoctrinated with the concept that bad=good.The effect is always the same: Meaningless primitivism

Here, since I still don't know what I'm doing with the backdrop.
I decided to remove it until I fix up Qaz.

Sorry for another double post.
But I need some C+C on Qaz before I try to get to work on a backdrop of some sort.

So no comments or critique from anyone? D:
I have nothing for an update but that's because I need some feedback on Qaz.

I'm going to be honest with you here, this isn't your best piece. I realize you are going for a different style and are trying out new things which is great but I don't know how well it worked. Actually I think the thing that bugs me the most is what you did with the face. It just seems random and sloppy. I would keep the original black look with just the goggles and mask being light idea but try to work on form and AA of those areas a bit more in the shading. It also wouldn't hurt to give the pants or straight jacket a bit of a different hue or even brightness as the rest of the stuff to help differentiate between the two. I think with a bit of work it could actually be a lot nicer  :y:
