[WIP] Big head portrait

on: December 18, 2006, 08:18:36 pm

It the ear looks great IMO and I like how the detailed places came out but the big smooth empty areas look totally vectorized. Can I add more colours and still stay alive :P?

yes..
anyways, that is a big noggin he has.. it might be beneficial to study some pictures of skulls so that you gain a better understanding of the bone structure involved in a head/face..

Edit, just regarding the shape, not the colors. I know I changed a few things that I shouldn't have (not the confusing lighting), but:
-The side of the face was really weird. You could see his eye and part of his cheek above his nose, but none of it below the nose.
-His eyes were too small. Eyes are one eye apart. And if the eyes are wrong, it screws up the whole face.

Yeah, that's one of the things I shouldn't have changed. :hehe:

I changed him a bit. I don't want to make his face too wide. Added one color. Started dithering. Again, it works in the detailed areas but the large plain areas don't look so smooth.

Your dithering has resulted in loss of hair  :-\
