It's a good start,
Try to smooth out the curves on the vertical drops, and maybe attempt an island or a beach on the lake/pond area.
perhaps a rock splitting one of the waterfalls?

the waterfall doesnt look right, it should drop vertically as soon as it hits the edge.

your progress is excellent so far, tips for the water would be to jst add ripples away from points of activity, or maybe try a more tiled water effect, TakaM did should give you plenty of inspiration.

Shitastic edit, I know.  I'm no expert, but that's kinda how I'd start for shading the water.

As far as the waterfalls looking wrong: I think that the should either go directly down, like Terley said, or maybe they should arch a bit, all depending on the force of the river you want to portray...either way you go, you should be consistant.

This is coming along great. Good luck on the water.

update:

still need to do more work on the grass around it, and the final waterfall.

plans: bottom left, theres a gap, probobly gonna put a bridge.
then somewhere around there put stone stairs
more stairs on the left of the top

just finish it and then ask for more critique.  we dont need to see every slightly different edit you create.  just the big milestones.

and if you continue to bump - expect an official warning from the mods.
