Mi Amigo, por que!!? Trust me, being raised near the border, I HAD to get used to mariachi music. I can't name all bands, but I can stomach it.
Mariachi bands have names?

I like Rammstein and Thursday and DragonForce. I also like Sigur Ros and Guitar Vader and...another Japanese band that does some Naruto music...Gah, I forgot the name. Oh yeah that's it; Orange Range. Hideki Naganuma.

i listen to REM, natalie merchant, the cranberries, colin hay, fleetwood mac, pete townshend, coldplay, the decembrists, the postal service, and for some reason, NOT death cab for cutie, despite the fact that theyhave a ton in common with the last two in the list
A mistake is a mistake.
The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

Adarias, I'm the same way except I listen to Death Cab and not The Postal Service.

I guess a person can only handle so much Ben Gibbard, no matter how clever his lyrics are.

Am I the only indie rock loving emo hoebag shoegazer on this entire forum? :\

Everyone likes metal.

And I don't understand it.

i do like metal, but my music tastes lie more with the "emo" category.  I like bands like Funeral for a Friend, Bullet for my Vlentine, From first to last.  I also love Blink-182, +44 and other punkpop.

Yeah, I also like Bullet. I'm now constantly listening to Lilium from the anime Elfen Lied :P

I go from "soft and slow", to "hard and fast", in terms of music.

soft and slow
jeniferever
band of horses
anathallo
immoor
klimt 1918

[semi-hard semi-fast]
joshua fit for battle
toru okada
on the might of princes
raein
et tu brute

hard and fast
shai hulud
deadlock
caliban
darkest hour
heaven shall burn

And the bands that fall in between the categories like Thursday, Fall Of Troy, Cursive, Fear Before, Every Time I Die

I can't stand "emo" or punk rock whatsoever and am not into metal.  I'm into jurassic 5, liquid soul, global funk council, galactic, sound tribe sector 9, and any '80s dance music.

Fall of Troy is great especially the guitarist.
