Soccer Player

It's been a long time since I pixeled anything, so this is kind of an attempt to get back into it.



I know it's not that great, so any suggestions for improvement appreciated.

looks great. i love seeing new styles. i would make him taller, leg wise. he looks odd with such short legs.

it's an interesting style, but it seems a bit boring colorwise. i'd suggest re-working the palette to give it a bit more depth.  Also i think it would be beneficial to give the head a more interesting shape, it seems kind of bland.

I like the technique, but the character is bland. I'd love to see that sort of shading applied to something larger and more detailed.
que faire quand on a tout fait, tout lu, tout bu, tout mangé
tout donné en vrac et en détail
quand on a crié sur tous les toîts pleuré et ris dans les villes et en campagne

professional soccer player never use jeans while playing >_<.
the face needs to have a different shape, or make it more realistic.

I'm not a big fan of the dithering you're using. At such a small scale it makes everything look as though there are lines on everything. I did a little edit to show what I would suggest doing.

Exactly. Take note of the shape of the head in David's edit (nice job, btw).  If you want to give a sprite (or any character even) more personality and dymanics, make their form interesting.  You have to think of it as if you were molding something out of a lump of clay, sure, a circle is a primitive type of head, and it gets the point across, but if you start to exagerate different parts and/or block off different defined sections it gives it more personality.
