I thought the "I robot" movie was really good. I haven't read the book. The best steam punk thing I've watched is an anime series
called "Last Exile", has anyone watched that?

I haven't seen I, Robot, and I heard it had nothing to do with the book, really.  Which doesn't surprise me, considering that the book was more of a collection of short stories centered around the three Laws of Robotics.  It was a great book.  "Reason" I think it was called, was my favorite.

Asimov is just a great writer all around.  He wrote some greats essays on math and science that believe it or not were entertaining at same time as instructive.  I wish folks like him were the ones writing the textbooks.

Even though I haven't read the I robot book, I have read alot of Asimov books (most of the foundation books, most of the short stories,
even detective stories and ones about a little devil).

The thing that impressed me about I robot was it was really smart, the three laws are a big part. You should check it out Darien. My favourite part of the movie:

When does a perceptual schematic become consciousness? When does a difference engine become the search for truth? When does a personality simulation become the bitter mote... of a soul?

My favorite part of I, Robot is when a bunch of robots are on Will Smith's bike, and Will Smith is like, "Get off of my bike!"

Or maybe it was robots on his car, and he said "Get off of my car!"

Either way, I'm pretty sure he won an Emmy just for that line alone.

Dude, did you even watch the film? He was on his Grandmas scooter becuase of the black out (cars didn't work) and he was like
"Get off my motorised scooter" or something like "The three laws can kiss my ass". It wasn't no car or bike.
