i particularly like the hamster because it seems peculiar.
id suggest tryig some more saturated colors since your current ones are rather desaturated. its good to experiment and see what else could work.

the more saturated, the more color/hue it has.
the less saturated, the less color it has.
the colors you are useing are rather dull, and aren't very interesting as some more vibrant colors might be.
for instance, instead of useing a black or dark grey, try useing some dark blue..
