That's such a huge compliment, MysteryMeat. Thank you!

I loved your idea so much, I went and made a first pass of it. I don't know how I didn't think of that!

hahaha, I love it! this seems like a fantastic concept for a small game, love me some culinary-themed media!

I do gotta ask what he's swinging around though, if it's meant to be a spatula perhaps it should be metal and have more defined slots on it like on his insignia?

So glad you like it! And that's another good idea; currently it's a wooden spatula, but if that's hard to read I'll try reworking it into a metal one for sure.

I've always loved pixel art (essentially grew up on it), but I'm specifically practicing so I can produce art for my own (first) indie game. It's great to hear that you think a character like this is well suited for that!

look man if you throw enough premeditated style into it I just explode in a shower of support, I live for good movements and fun concepts.

just keep your ideas clear and fluid as here and I think you'll do very well!

I hugely appreciate your support, and your encouragement!

Here's a working draft of an attack animation:

This is great! Love the character.

Only have a couple of things to note:

In the preparing to attack animation his legs get significantly longer.

And your highlights on the legs could be a little better in the fighting pose, try to not have them hug the edges of the forms so much.

Consider using the light on the apron to create waves down the cloth rather than just having it blow to the side for a little more appeal.

Keep it up! Can't wait to see more  ;D
