This looks messy and its very difficult to tell what it is. Try making something that is easily recognisable (like a dog) and when you're okay
at that move onto abstract stuff. Why don't you try coloring someone else's lineart?

I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Its obvious that its a Bottle-Tentacle-Hamsterface-robot-ufo from outer space..
How could you miss that?

Anyway the shading is a bit wierd, it got no real light source. Or it looks like its a bit from the right, but still. I dont know what style your shooting for.. maybe you could explain a bit more what you were trying to do?

I think I can see it. I mean... I can tell that there's a pod-esque U.F.O. and it's taking off. I can't really tell what's going on with the alien.
You may want to work on a larger scale. It may make finding the individual details a bit easier.

Ok, until Monsoon's comment i honestly thought it was the head of some guy, wearing one of those old fan-ish collar things.

I think sharprm's right. I'd like to see you colouring someone else's lines, because i don't think i've seen much actually colouring from you as of yet.

Anyway, keep it up.

Oh, I thought they were legs not flames from taking off. Starting to wonder whether its wearing a kilt.

Rerg1: Try coloring that  as an excercise.

Don't work with a white background. Make it a light shade of grey or blue or something. Then don't antialias the outside line with
green, but blue or grey. Also suggest making the thruster stuff yellow, and try to draw some yellow light reflected on the bottom
of the green bit. Shouldn't the cabin be a light shade of grey and that dark thing you drew be white? Where is your light source going to
be coming from? Obviously you can't use Monsoon2d lines for the stuff u submit on pixjoint, but you should be able learn something
and redo your old piece.

oh rerg what are we going to do with you, I admire your determaination cus ya jst keep comin back all ears willin to learn each week :)

Your original looks hard to make out because your colour schemes doesn't make the slightest of sense, everything clashes.. You've AAed a black line with a really dark green, each pixel should be placed for a reason..

Well er yeah I know this is monsoon's linework so don't claim it your own, I like your colour choices, just maybe a bit more change in the Hues.. This isn't colour by numbers so don't feel the need to stick within the lines, I went a bit crazy with AAing this, plus I couldn't help colouring this in  :-[
I've not got anything interesting to type here..

Reg1, keep things simple, start from dark green and go to light green. Stuff around with hue changes when your super good imo.

I wanted to color it too.

I really didn't expect anyone to actually color those lines; they were merely my interpretation of what Rerg1 had drawn.

David's correct. You need to use it as a reference to improve it, not claim it as your own.

Edit: Don't worry, I would never post this on PixelJoint. It is Moon's.

I don't think Rerg1 is claiming it as his own. He is coloring it to improve his skills. I also colored Moons piece, as did two other people, I don't see what the big
deal is.

Rerg1 i think the second last edit looked better. The green shiny bit on the glass with the white dots as highlights looked good. The
new edit you've added weird splodges that don't look very good imo. Also if you use a brown like you have for shading, make it much
darker than the green color next to it. Maybe you should start redoing you own piece and keep everyone happy.

First want to finish this and show it to you guys and see if I progressed good.
I will colour mine after.
