[CC] An orc and a mercenary

on: August 31, 2018, 01:55:41 am
Hi guys,
I've been working on these two characters (enemies for a game idea)

Any advice or comment that helps me improve them is appreciated

Which version of the orcs do you like the most? ???
thanks!

his sword kinda reads more as a codpiece at 1:1 there, lol

you might want to practice some gesture sketches, get a better feel for fluid posing. As is, the swords clash mightily with the piece since they don't feel like part of the "scene."

Essentially, they're too static compared to the rest of the pose.

I'd also say the arm is a bit short, make it about a pixel or two longer.

Hi MysteryMeat,
thanks for the advice
I had not seen him that way....

some edits about the mercenary (aka codpiece now :P):

I do not know if I move the sword a little more down or just remove it
although I plan to use them at 200x, I think it decrease the confusion in that area

edit (animation):

The orcs are fantastic, if you wanted a more realistic darker approach to your game you could use the darker orc. Because it seems more worn from working and tougher look/demeanor.

The brighter green orc seems less tainted and worn out from working hard.

Or you could use each one depending on the time of day in the game/background? Just a suggestion, love your style

Hi tinytheghost, thanks!  :y:
I had not thought about that, good idea to use it in different backgrounds, I'll keep it in mind.
