Rocker Girl (Please Criticize)

on: July 03, 2018, 06:33:00 am
Slowly getting better at Pixel art. Ive limited my canvas to 16x32 to learn how to use the space I have.

This is the first piece I made that I actually like. That being said give me all the Critiques!
I make art. At least I think its art.

Please don't pre-zoom your work, it makes it harder to make edits. The forums have a zoom feature, click to zoom in, and click while holding alt, shift, or ctrl/cmd to zoom out.

You can get livelier looking colours if you hue-shift the colours in each ramp instead of just making them darker/lighter.

Other than that, the sprite already looks nice, but consider using shadows to define the form more instead of relying solely on outlines.

Here's an edit that adds a little more hue-shifting and some shadows:

I couldn't tell how exactly her legs are positioned, so I just added some suggested folds. You could get a more dynamic pose by having one leg forward and one back (this can be communicating by having more shadow on the leg that's further back).
