how to fix the tail of this long neck dinosaur

The tail just looks very small and should be much bigger! Tails on dinosaurs helped them balance. So, the tail should look like it weighs about the same as the neck and head (and in the case of dinosaurs that walk on two legs like T-Rexes, the tail would also balance the upper torso). It should be at least as long as the head and neck combined, possibly longer since it looks like you're going for a thinner tail.

The neck is a continuation of the spine, so it looks unnatural to have it come out of the back at 90 degrees like that. Instead, have the neck come out the front and curve up.

As far as I know, long-necked herbivores had elephant-like feet that didn't really stick out of the leg. Giving it feet like that makes it look like two people in a dino costume xP There aren't many animals other than apes that have feet like that.

hmm yes i see what you mean thankyou!! regarding to the neck idk i like it the way it is i think XDD but what you showed me also looks good so i might consider trying it that way. i tried to change it a lil with some help but the tail really seems off still.



is it because it needs to be longer still? idk. i think it's the tip of the tail bothering me the most.

I do think the tail should be longer, but it really depends on what you want this character to look like!

As for the tip, think about what that line through the tail represents, if anything. Is it a ridge at the top of the tail? If so, then you'll need to imagine the tail in 3D to figure out where that line actually belongs. It's not as simple as just connecting two sides of the tail xP If you really struggle with that, consider going the cartoon route and not having that detail at all. However, imagining the character in 3D will help a lot with shading, if you plan to do that.

Maybe try drawing the tail without the bend in it first to figure out the thickness and length you want, and then draw the bent version once you know exactly what the tail is meant to look like.

One thing that looks weird to me is how the tail the tail continues horizontally right after the butt, and then sharply bends down. Try to avoid such sharp bends and use smooth, swooshy curves instead:

you also seem to be forgetting the feathers, dinosaurs have feathers now didn't you hear?
