Game tilesets and asset sizes

So like so many people I have an idea for a game, what I want to know is how to figure out what size to do the tilesets and art work for the game. I have played around with everything from 16x16 through 128x128 size tiles for the tilesets and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what size will work best with the idea I have for the game. Any suggestions on game design mock up tutorials or just general advice would be most welcome

Why have you started another thread to ask the same question?

After the reply I received form the pixel art section i realized It was more of a general question than strictly a critique on my art work, I am genuinely trying to get an answer to my problem.

I would say it depends on the size and resolution of your sprites and what sort of art style you are going for, do you have any sort of reference for how you want the game to look?
