
it's not ideal, but hopefully you can get something out of this edit.
Some thoughts:
- Odedrt9 is right, shine goes a long way towards making it look metallic
- In general, metal is very high contrast, push those values up and down more
- Another thing that helps for metal is bounced light, you can see this in your references. especially useful on your raised details.
- You should work on a gray background rather than white, bright backgrounds distort how you see colors
- Try not to use interior outlines, especially on a piece this small. You need all the pixels you can get to make it believable.
I think that's it. Of course, there's lots of ways to make things shiny, stylistically speaking. Looking at it again, my edit may read more as plastic than metal. Experiment a bit to find a way that works for you.
