[Feedback] Plague Crusader

on: February 02, 2018, 02:00:21 am
Hello everyone! I'm new here and excited to share and participate in this community.
A small project I've been working on is "profiles" for characters that display their face and some abilities.

This is one I did for a Plague Crusader (A crusader crossed with a plague doctor).

My main question is how I should go about fixing the lighting, but any critique would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

First: try and figure the shape angle out more.
Second: try dithering the shadows somewhat, it's not usually something I reccomend but here it might give the piece a bit of a grittier look that will help the eye smooth over the form
PSA: use imgur
http://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=19838.0 also go suggest on my quest, cmon

Alright thanks! I'll get to work on the dithering.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by figuring the shape angle out, what exactly is the issue I need to fix?

Thanks again!

This isn't exactly on the character itself, but the black-to-white border's gradient seems to make it look "blurry". Perhaps simplifying it to a few colours and making them a little larger gives you a more 'definite' border, something like so?
