Punching Animation

on: January 04, 2018, 03:29:19 pm
Hello!

I would like to improve on this simple punching animation to have more impact/fluidity (to look better overall):

Thank you!

if I am correct, its a view from the back and he/she is punching up?
If so, i would suggest adding some frames of his/her arm getting ready for the punch. pull his/her right arm back behind the sprite before the punch. why does the left arm turn red also?

It looks good. I don't think it needs anticipation frames if it's a playable character, but it's hard to tell without knowing what you're after. The sprite is nice anyways.

He bounces too much and it feels more like a jump because of it. Punches draw their power not from the arm, but from the leg and torso! Try to keep the feet slightly more grounded with more of a "twist" to the torso there instead. Having the other arm come around towards the camera during the punch could help sell that!
