LF Pixel Artist for TopDown Game

Ok typical programmer with no artist skills here.

I'm looking for someone to help me do the following
1) Create a Character. At first just a single still frame
2) shape the look, feel, and tone of my game. I have genres in mind but need the help of an artist.

I'll probably want a few examples of directions/styles

General Idea - This is a dark fantasy/scifi. Think Hellgate London. The closest game i can think to the mechanics and general game play is Hyper Light Drifter.

I have a prototype of the first character and would like to throw some art on to see help me visualize things.
