[WIP] Fluffy llama

on: November 14, 2017, 08:19:20 pm
Hello! I wanted to draw a cute fluffy llama and later try to animate it. It is supposed to jump upwards in funny way. I stared with a skeleton as in the topic about fox's fur.

Later I added kind of muscles/silhouette.

Next step was adding colors and a bit of shading. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible but I'm afraid it's too simple...

And fluffy fluff. Probably the worst part of this work. It is impossible for me to present llama's wool, it's completely differently shaped from wolf's or fox's fur.

Okay, any critique is a blessing from heaven. At this moment I have no idea how to improve it to make it more llamy-ish... and maybe cuter? And maybe better in every aspect?

Okay, is this one better? I'm not sure about face, big lighter areas and shading on tummy... And last question - can I use this piece to make a chibi version of llama, or should I start from the begining?

try using a background that is closer to grey (or desaturated colour) 50% brightness.
it helps to get better value balance that way.
