[CC] First Pixel Art Animation

on: July 06, 2017, 06:43:53 am
Hi.  This is my first attempt at animating an idle state for my character.  I really struggle with pixel art and usually take hours to make a character like this one.  let me know what you think.  thanks.

Hi! So Ill preface this by saying I myself am no means an expert either but I do have some advice I'd give

first, unless it's a purposeful stylistic choice youre making, the stomach animation is exaggerated to the extent it becomes distracting/the focal point of the animation.

second, I'd recommend animating the whole body consistently, specifically the legs, even subtly so the character looks more cohesive and less like a set of independent parts. the shoulder is animated in a way that the arm isnt, which could be improved

hopefully that helps some

thanks!  will work on the legs.  re stomach, i wanted to make the idle state more interesting, but will most likely not keep that because i aim to make a p&c adventure game and i realized this is an in appropriate idle animation for the genre :)
