[CC] Stalactite with C64 palette

on: July 02, 2017, 03:29:17 pm

Trying to make a Stalactite with C64 palette, no other restrictions. Its supposed to be used in game and I feel like i added too many details. Also not sure if its really readable as a stalactite.
You can see that it consist of 3 tiles. I'm pretty happy with the top and bottom one, the middle one is the most problematic.

I found the yellow colour to be the best colour to show the bright surface, but it is actually much to bright for a earthy look, I tried just removing it and making a dark outline around the highlight in the edit on the right, so to make it more readable, but i feel like in that edit the colours are just too boring and same-y.

I'd be glad with any cc or thoughts on this piece.

someone noted that since its stuck to the ceiling, the light would come from above, so i swapped the highlights and that looked a lot better.

Some thoughts:

Hopefully this is self explanatory?
You're welcome to come onto the stream and ask questions any time.

Agreed about the lighting in your new version - looks way better already. :y:
