Yo, quick thought related to presentation rather than the art.
The canvas color in your video was part of the image.
You worked directly with that base color to determine your character color choices.
I understand the appeal of going borderless.
But by posting the characters on transparent, the Pixelation backdrop has blown them out a lot.
Color readability is relative to the other colors it shares space with.
If you want to show art on top of potentially any color, make sure it can handle it.
Or include the original canvas which makes them nicely readable.
Or use a more creative border approach if you really want to escape the square.
May not seem like too big of a deal.
But considering this improves viewer experience.
Will help you control and retain the feeling of your art.
And minimizes the influence of outside forces affecting your intended visuals.
