Does this walking look lame or it thought to me?

Also, can you advice any software to work on animations with pieces of sprite? I mean pieces like this:

Currently I work on animations in Adobe Photoshop, but it's a bit inconveniently.

Why so many parts?
What I do in photoshop is I have one layer, a sprite sheet, which I just move each frame. Makes it much easier to just draw on it and make changes. Sure, having different parts means it's non-destructive, but the time it would take to manage the different parts would make it not worth it.

I'd say this looks pretty good. Depending on what the robot is for I'd change the head to either be more gyrostabilized ( for reconnaissance or shootbangs) or have it tilt a bit more or add some jitter motor rumbling (for industrial lifting or other utilities)

spriter or spine

the jitter of the head back and forwards doesn't work well imo, takes away from any motion you're trying to achieve with the legs bouncing and contributes to a limp-like effect bc its not happening equally on both strides on what otherwise looks like perfectly mirrored leg movement

I actually find it to have a very robotic "jittery" and cranky movement cycle, which makes me very impressed.
This ain't criticism but I just wanted to say I really like it, aha

Stabilized

Diesel Jitter

To achieve the jitter effect, I flipped the lighting on some of the panels every other frame. This is to emulate the vibration of the panels, if you assume they're straight vertical then the lighting and reflections would change pretty constantly while the machine is going.

You can see the effect I'm replicating to a degree in the barrel of the washing machine here, the plating on the machine itself is too stable for the effect but the spinning chamber catches the light exactly as I'm trying for!

It's somewhat overplayed but Larwick's Rustbug might help:

Basically the same movement.

Looks I've been following STEALER on Pixelation for 5 years and it's come far, don't let me down ;)
