Robot Animation: Spawn

on: February 08, 2017, 10:55:10 pm
Essentially this character is supposed to deploy an enemy, but the animation feels very weak at the moment, and it doesn't loop back to it's original position very well:

(don't mind the color of the enemy coming out)

Hello!

I'm pretty new, but I thought your robot was cute so I edited the sprite a few ways to make it look smoother!

1. The legs were seeming wobbly, and the outline beneath the feet disappeared under the canvas on a few frames(unless you were aiming for that, then nevermind)
2. The arms were a little stiff when the body moved up or down, so I made them seem loose.
3. Added frames. One after the door opens fully, to add a 'preparing to pump out enemy' feel. Another frame for when the enemy lands that he bounces from weight, and a couple frames at the end to make him stand up-right to his starting position!

Thanks for the critique Rahunei! I tried to make the arms and legs smoother, as well as add some bounce to the arms, and added more frames:
