Need help simplifying this sprite?

on: February 07, 2017, 11:44:00 pm
The biggest thing is...I want to get rid of the sel-out as much as I can while still having the sprite stand out on the following backdrops:

The sprite looks particularly messy in this situation:

And that's mainly what I have trouble with right now.

I think the sprite is fine. The problem is the room has a lot of contrast for a background.

The one thing that I think is an issue with the sprite is the ahoge, that hair sticking up. It's inconsistently placed in the different frames and it doesn't really read like it's coming from the head. I'd either remove it or place it consistently somewhere where its source is visible.

I think this all looks top-tier.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I tried adding an outline so it stands out more against the contrasted background.

Hmm I think I agree that the background is more contrasted than the main sprite. It should be the other way around.
