[Newbie][Feedback] First time doing pixel art

on: January 22, 2017, 03:18:04 am
Hey.

I'm a newbie in pixel art. I have these sprites done yesterday, and I was wondering what you guys think? I like the colors, but I'm sure it needs improvement on anatomy but I just don't know how to fix it.

Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty new to pixel art as well so take my comment with a grain of salt()

Anyways, I would say that the sprites are unreadable at 1x which is the resolution that they need to be readable at. To solve this you might want to have a preview up as you work so you can see what it looks like without zooming out so that you can verify this.

I'll say this again, I am pretty new so take what I say with a grain of salt(this is how I work now btw) ::)

If I may ask, what was your purpose of making these sprites?

The anatomy depends entirely upon the style of the game. It could work in a cartoonish style. I'd recommend eliminating the jagged edges on the diagonal outline sections where you've doubled up pixels, though.

Not exactly sure of what is wanted here but made edits, although not perfect

For reference was considering this to be the overall style it fits, or is similar to

Hey, I'm back.

@Ma3vis I was going for a hybrid of LiEat and Lisa: The Painful's spriting style

I also fixed some parts based on your edits. Thanks for the edits, they helped me a lot!

@Yokai90 These sprites are for a game I'm making.
