Various walk cycles

on: November 21, 2016, 08:32:35 pm
Hello everyone. I'm trying to feel out a new main character for my next game. Let me know what you think of this character. He grows up and is supposed to become more calm + confident as he gets older. Let me know if this is conveyed properly. One of my goals this time around is to use more solid blocks of color and less elaborate shading, and instead express form and motion through strong animations. Of course, we'll see if I'm actually up to the challenge.

Thanks in advance!

I'd say swap the middle and bottom ones along that timeline, the last one still looks somewhat cautious and wary whereas the new one speaks of someone willing to jump into new situations with reckless aplomb!
The motions are all excellent work, though on the topic of that middle one he seems to be bent over backwards a bit and it's making him look somewhat off-balance!
That can work for more weirdo characters (like voldo, from soul calibur) but I am unsure if that was your intent there, so I figured I'd mention that!
